wow people getting all angry at pens fans saying how sid doesn’t have to win everything. like obviously we know that. it’s just that a lot of the time, such as for the hart, he really, truly, deserves it. unlike the masterton which harding obviously deserved, no one got mad about that.

Let me first state that, yes I love my Captain with every part of my Pittsburgh blood, but c’mon. Josh Harding has MS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_sclerosis (educate yourself). There is NO KNOWN CURE FOR THIS. HE IS AN NHL LEVEL GOAL TENDER.

If you’ve been on Twitter today about the Geno contract then you’ve already witnessed the stupidity, but before some of the misinformed arguments make their way over here I’m going to set something straight. Geno is NOT making more than Sid. Geno has a greater cap hit than Sid ($9.5 M > $8.7 M). However, Sid’s salary is greater because his contract is front-loaded. Throughout Geno’s contract he will have a salary that is equal to his cap hit of $9.5 M per year. Sid’s contract is set up differently. In 2014-2015, the first year that Geno will be under his new contract, Sid will make $12 M. He will also make $12 M the following year. After that his salary by year will be $10.9 M, $10.9 M, $10 M, $9 M, $9.6 M, $9 M, $3 M, $3 M, and $3 M. Therefore, the only years that Sid will be making less than Geno will be 2019-2020 and 2021-2022. So while Geno has a greater average annual value than Sid, he is not making more than him.
